Yufe4Postdocs

Yufe4Postdocs (Y4P) is an ambitious training programme co-funded by Horizon Europe’s Marie Sklodowska-Curie programme. It is part of the Young Universities for the Future of Europe (YUFE) Alliance, which brings together nine young research-intensive universities from across Europe. They are collaborating to contribute to a more competitive, innovative and united Europe.

YUFE4Postdocs aims to train future proof researchers, building bridges between academia and society. It features a novel evaluation procedure based primarily on qualitative judgement and offers an attractive training package including interactive stakeholder engagement seminars and a variety of joint transferable skills training sessions.

The YUFE universities are pleased to announce that the first call resulted in the appointment of 25 excellent postdocs. They are developing projects within the YUFE focus areas of Sustainability and Digital Society. Postdocs carry out their projects anchored in a YUFE host university of their choice. The cohort 1 training programme has started.

The second and final call closed in January 2024 and applications are currently being evaluated. The second cohort of postdocs will begin their positions in autumn 2024 and they will develop projects within the YUFE focus areas of Citizens’ Wellbeing and European Identity.

In total, 51 positions are offered for researchers appointed across nine YUFE universities.  Selected YUFE postdocs can conduct a research training project in a broad range of disciplines with a project addressing one or more urban opportunities and challenges.

The programme offers a number of benefits for postdoctoral researchers. These include:

  • Attractive employment conditions, including 36-month appointments
  • A three-pillar training programme on community engagement, stakeholder interaction, Open Science and Open Innovation
  • Personalised supervision and career guidance
  • Support from stakeholder organisations involved as Associated Partners. Six business organisations and ten city and regional councils will contribute to the training program.
  • Implementation by an EU-wide, experienced consortium

Please note that updated information about the YUFE4Postdocs project will soon be available on the YUFE Alliance website. The research training projects of the postdocs will be showcased there.
